It can be seen
from above chart that the reported year of
2007-08 has been very good for Gujarat
sportspersons. Their medal tally has been
the highest since the State has come into
existence. This has been made possible due
to greater awareness and interest in sports,
more intensive coaching efforts and better
leadership. There has been no marked
increase in resources and the Plan ceiling
was actually cut in the economy drive.
